MAHAMMAYA TEMPLE

Built in 16th C. it is one of the important temples at Ankola city. The temple is beside NH-17 (national highway). The temple holds the deities of Shri Mahamayi, Shri Laxmi Narayana along with the idols of Eshwara, Parwathi and Ganapathi. During Mahanavami and Vijaya dashami special worship and celebrations are held.

ARYADURGA Temple

Sri Arya Durga Temple is in the coastal town of Ankola in Uttara Kannada District. Established over 300 years ago by a saint, the temple has his samadhi in front of it. The temple was renovated recently. Kundodhari Mahamaya Chamundeswari Temple is another nearby attraction.

Ankola is a charming place which attracts tourists to its sandy beaches. It has its own railway station. Mangalore is the nearest airport.

From Karwar bus depot buses, travelling to Gokarna will have Ankola on their way. Ankola is situated 150 km Southward from Panji on the Mumbai-Manglore NH 17. From Karwar, there are frequent private vehicles to Ankola.

VIBHUTI FALLS

Vibhooti is a small waterfalls near Yana, about 50kms from Sirsi North Kanara, Western Ghats. The falls gets its name from the Lime Stone rock nearby. After we pass the Vaddi Ghats we need to take a deviation at a place called Mabagi which is about 3kms from the falls.Other places of interest would be Yana, Unchalli, Benne hole falls.

By road from Sirsi which goes to Mattighatta, Devanalli via Hegadekatta. You will not get a bus which takes you near the waterfall you will have to walk the Vaddi Ghat after you get down at Vaddi cross or Yana
