Murdeshwara is a town in Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. Murudeshwara"' is another name of the Hindu god Shiva. Famous for the world's second-tallest Shiva statue, the town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for the Murdeshwar Temple.
A huge towering statue of Lord Shiva, visible from great distances, is present in the temple complex. It is the second highest statue of Lord Shiva in the world. The tallest Shiva statue is in Nepal known as the(Kailashnath Mahadev Statue).The statue is 123 feet (37 m) in height and took about two years to build.

JUMMA MASJID
It is told that the Masjid was built in 1447 AC. It is devotional place for Muslims Apart from that the masjid has inculcated the diversity of all communities. The masjid is situated at Bhatkal which was a place of famous horses imported from Arab countries during 14 and 15 AC. Being renovated the masjid has kept up its original grandeur.

ADIKE NARAYANA
Built by granite stones the temple is situated at the east of Moodbhatkal. The flag post of the temple is erected in the middle of agricultural fields. The temple attracts visitors for its natural beauty.

CHANDRA NATHESHWARA BASADI
One is reminded of the great Kannada poet Kuvempu’s poem ‘Baagilolu Kai Mugidu Olage Baa Yatrikane’ when one gets in to Chandranatheshwara Basadi. The gigantic pillars with sculptures a big hall inside with a width of 90 meters and 100 meters wide. It is also called Bhanda Basadi which has beautiful garden inside.

CHITRAPUR MUTT
